Made it out today for a hunt and found myself a bucket lister. Started my hunt out finding a 1937 Washington. That alone would have been enough to make my hunt.
Hunting the barber field again there was headstamps, modern lead and the usual trash. Things were slow after the Washington so I headed up the hill to the other side of the field to the jeep for a drink. Almost to the other side and where we've hit good at least a 1/2 dozen times. I get a deep faint hit from mid 80's to 94. I dig a plug and see the edge of a silver coin in hole, 1785 2 Reale. My first Spanish silver with a full readable date.
Before my hunt ended I also found my first Canadian large cent, 1906.

Deershed, congrats on another great day..don't you just live those high tones out in the field...especially after hearing mid tones and iron grunts all day...lol. So just how deep was that beautiful real? Thx for sharing...Ddf

Thanks!! Yeah, there's so many low tones just hearing a 70's hit is a welcome sound. Lol There's a lot of shell casings and lead in the field too. Some of the lead hits ring up pretty nice and almost sound like silver. Usually my silver dimes ring up around 84. Here a lot of the silver dimes are ringing up 79-80 like a wheat and even had a couple ring up at 77-79.
The real was deep probably around 8' deep, just a faint signal but consistent.
