Don't have any "before" pics on these finds. They're on my computer somewhere, but I may never find them!

Went back to one of my old spots today. Ground is still saturated from all the rain we've had the past month, so lots of signals. Dug a handful of 1930's shotgun shells, but also pulled out a few keepers. Best one was a totally toasted large cent. I'm guessing draped bust, but I could be wrong. Dug it in a swampy area, so I knew it was going to be in rough shape.

Second find was a not quite as toasted 1887 IHC. At least I managed to get the date off of it. Seems like the majority of the Indians I find are toasted. Oh well...

Last find was a 1700's flat button. I think it's tombac, because the front is really slick to the touch. Hit it with my digger, though. Knocked a nice chunk out of it. Still a good find, though.

Here's some pics:

Nice finds. Wish my "toasted" coins looked near as good as that Indian head! [emoji106]

ALWAYS be grateful for your Finds!
At least you didn't get skunked, AND,
you found stuff that I'm envious over,
items that we usually don't find, out West.

wow, what a collection of shotgun brass! I find a lot too but I believe you got me beat for the moment at least. The IH looks great, the last seven wheaties I have found are so toasted that they are pretty thin as well. don't know what an IH would look like in this dirt
