I finally got into the 1800's. Found at a neighbor's house that is on a map dating to 1872. 1876 seated liberty quarter.

Carson City baby! The coolest mintmark of all. Like most of us, my first 1800's coin was an Indian head. Congrats on making your first one memorable!

Lol, my first IH was 1898 and I am still stoked about it twenty years later. Even though I no longer have it, I can still see the defects, the marvelous green patina, and remember the marvel that this was older than two of my great-Grandparents.

Great hunk of silver. I'd probably spend the $$$ to get it slabbed.

That's quite a entrance into the 19th century club! But you also marched into a much more exclusive club...seated half-dollar club! Certainly not your everyday find. Welcome;)

Great find and heck of a way to break into the 1800's! Seated silver eludes me still.

Nice job getting into the club! :occasion14: Good luck on the 1700's club! I hope to get into the 1500's club, but I will probably need to visit Europe to achieve that. I still haven't managed to get into the 1800's silver club :( It took me nearly two years to get into the 1800's club, with an 1864 Indian, I found a few 1700's coins but nothing from the 1800's. I was pretty happy when I finally found a partially melted toasted 1864 Indian. :)

Here is an even older map I found of Lawrence County, showing houses, streets, and homeowners.
