I'm in the Jensen beach area doing a fishing trip. And yes I brought my detector. You never know. Well I got about an hour break before heading out to dinner, so I hit this spot where they had taken out one of the small old mobile homes from the late 60s. I pop up this ring but it looks like a steel nut from a bolt. I looked at it but it didn't have any threads inside. But it did have a 925. Yes , silver. Thanks for looking. 20170622_180452.jpg 20170622_180505.jpg 20170622_175538.jpg

Captken, great find! Stamped .925 yes...silver? I don't know for sure but it appears plated...im not trying to bust your bubble, and I hope I'm wrong, but appears the plating has worn/flaked off from being in the dirt...let's see what others have to say...but-still a great find! Rings rule...Ddf

I'm kind of with dirtdigginfool, If it is silver, try a baking soda & water mix, like a paste, let it sit for awhile and then rub it with fingers or perhaps a toothbrush, should come out tarnish free. I really hope it IS silver and not plate. It is stamped .925, but I've found things are not always as marked. I found a ring one time out in a desert near RR Tracks, the stone that was in it was missing, and the ring looked brown kind of, but it WAS marked 14K inside, tested it, and not a speck of gold in it. Having said that, I truly hope that the steel nut looking ring you found IS silver, it would be kind of cool.

Cool find,, there was a time when school shop classes would drill out steel nuts and hand them out as rings.
Congrats

In my 1977 high school metal shop class we had a project where we cut dense Styrofoam into shapes, buried them in the proper sand, and then poured melted lead to cast our Styrofoam forms. Mine was a ring that looked just like yours after removed from the sand and cleaned up a bit. The right person might be able to cast silver the same way?

With the shape of the outside diameter I would have pitched that thing. Good catch and congratulations.
