My first thought was that you found some sort of Wiccan charm with a pentagram. It definitely looks Celtic to me. Cool find!

Actually, I believe to Wiccan/Pagan types it's called a "Pentacle" if one of the five star points is pointing up, and a "Pentagram" if two points are pointing up. The difference is much like a cross, or an upside-down cross to a Christian.

Tho from how ornate it is I would say it was worn as a display of celtic knotwork rather than any religious icon.

Nice find :)

Maybe the star of David? There is a big volley ball tournament going on this weekend near my place, they have 9 VB courts setup. I;ll try to hit it this week. HH, Mike

If anything it's Wiccan or Pagan, but in today's world there are alot of people wearing pentacles without knowing their religious significance.

I would bet money whoever wore this did it because they thought it "looked nice".

wiccan---- "good witch " type healer person / star on the front "point up" --- if the the "point" was downward it would mean the worship of "evil" ------with a clectic knot pattern on the rear ---new age type healer type or "white witch" --strong believers in "natural meds" and good feeling / heal types ---kind hippish normally in many cases ---the celtic people used a lot of very ornate knot work desings as "religious symbols" with various meanings ---folks to day of wear them without knowing anything but their "pretty"---there was a time long ago when wearing one would get you burned to death as a "witch"---- Ivan
