first silver 50 cent

Decided after working around the house all day, I'd do a little dinging. I've been over my yard so many times. Worked my way down to the grape arbor. Couldn't believe when I pulled out a 1918 walker! My first silver 50 cent piece, very rough conditions, had to clean a lil for the date. Dam that feels good !

Thanks all. First silver of any kind in a long time, first 50 cent piece of any kind. 2nd walker as I have a 29 quarter. It's ugly but sure looks good in my hand. Lol

You will ALWAYS remember your first Walking Liberty Half, I can still point out the spot in town where I found mine years ago, it has long since been paved over into a parking lot, but can still point to the spot.

Congrats on your first Walking Liberty Half. I agree with Sprailroad. I can still go to the exact spot in a yard where I found my first Walker over 25 years ago ! Its just something you wont forget ( unlike your anniversary ) !

Great job I believe that 1917 and 1918 were the type 1 where I think the stars were under or no stars I forget but I think those two years were different than the rest. I have a type 1 cant tell if its 1917 or 18 but I remember someone pointed out they were different. sorry about all the mumbo jumbo hop[e it helps Tommy

Wingnut, on your NEXT walking liberty half, if it's not a "Key date coin", try baking soda and water, (like a tooth paste feel) stick the good ol' silver coin in it for alittle while, then gently rub it with your fingers or soft toothbrush and rinse, comes out nice for show & tell.
