I got out today for a quick morning hunt with the Basstards of Bramble. It's been quite a while since the three of us have hunted, and we had fun.

Here's my take:

My first high signal was this KG1. I called Bart over to listen because it sounded pretty funky. He agreed that it sounded nice enough to dig.

After that I snagged a Flying Eagle Cent follow d by a shoe buckle under a pile of branches I moved.

All in all it was a great hunt with my buddies. Charlie took us to a spot that may not have had a ton of signals, but the signals it has are usually winners. Thanks Charlie.

Now you have to admit the face is one very cool find. Is it solid or hollow? Nice copper and buckle also.
I got 10 minutes in the field before the skies opened up. :(

Nice to read that the B.O.B.s reunited for another hunt. You killed it Scrappy, loving the coppers. The FE still evades my coil.

George I is getting back there! Not a dump though... only 1717, 1718... and 1719, but that one is extremely unlikely to be dug.

Scrappy: I got an ID on the decorative monkey piece - killer find! Check it out.

I'm quite certain that you've recovered a belt plate fragment belonging to General Ursus from the original Planet of the Apes, you know, Charlton Heston and all that. He was a great military leader as far as gorillas go. Amazing find! Congrats! :tongue3:

Very deep signal. I suspect it's rather old but can't say what the hell it was. Thanks for looking Pepp

Dunno about the face. It almost looks broken from the picture I just posted about. I've seen these face types on 18th C. rings so perhaps it was that. Dunno

Thanks for the tip on the Dump issue. I was under the impression it was all but the late ones.

What's the story behind the 1720 not being commonly dug here in the US? I looked and they seem quite common.

Excellent ID! I was however, unaware of action in the area we searched. Perhaps this will rewrite history! Lol.

I found nothing. But smoked a lot of
" Indian tobacco " and took a short siesta.
I love those woods. What a great piece of land. I know
There's more there. When fall comes and it opens up we will kill it

1719 Dump would not be dug as it's a fairly rare coin in general. I just googled for 5 minutes and couldn't find a single example online.

Pfft, as if digging coins from the first quarter of the 18th century isn't awesome! Very nice digs, and that little face is a really cool find
