Went back to the site where I found the KG1 Rosa Americana and found a few items. 1 of the items looks like the remnant of a flint lock pistol. Let me know the thoughts on this intriguing item.

Well im going to say it could be ,but removing some crud with electrolysis might help and revile it better.

Sure looks like a flintlock lock, but like sawmill man said, electrolosys would help with what it's off of.

it looks like it could be, parts of it has probably rusted off, like the screw/knob that tightens down onto the flint itself. looks like part of the frizzen is still there. pretty awesome find in my book

Hopefully the electrolysis will pull some of the rust and yuck off of it. I'll check on it tomorrow a.m. And see how it's coming along. Thanks for the input.

After some of the crud removal and a closer inspection the item is what's left of a flintlock pistol or Blunderbuss. More pictures once it stays in the electrolysis over night...SCORE!

Looks like a M1816 musket or Charleville musket hammer with the hole in it. Nice!
