[Metal Headz]

I went back to the area of the pocket spill from 2 days ago and stumbled upon this eye find. I believe it's a 1971 issued plate, under the 73 sticker (fell off) there's a 71. I used rubber cement to reattach the 73 sticker. I also found a 1915D penny and a toasted 1888 V Nickel (not pictured). Good day in my opinion.

That's cool, I always wanted to start a license plate collection. I like that it still has the registration stickers. What's the oldest plate in your wife's collection?

I'm guessing not many people have been thru the area I found mine.

Yeah I agree, it's fun digging them. It's hard to find one in the ground that isn't so damaged. 2 out of the 3 I've found were on the surface. I would've posted a picture of it but in that condition it's not photogenic.

Good point, I might have thought it was a pipe if it were underground. I dig all smaller targets tho. It could've been in worse shape if buried.

A Very Good Day IMO.

The Plate turned up nice & I love pre-1940 especially ,pre 1930.
1915 D is SHEWEET .

Congrats on your finds! Post the V Nickel if you have a chance, have never dug one and would like to see how crusty they come out in our soil.

1907, it posted sideways. I didn't try to clean it except for rinsing the dirt off. It was found about 2 inches down.


1907 back


1888 is the one I found on this hunt on this post. It was found on the surface under leaf clutter and likely ran over by an atv a few times. I also found a 1897 under leaf clutter. Obviously if they're buried then it will be in better condition.
