After nosing around on Monday, returning to this field seemed the best option. Specially as I thought last time I had found a new spur of coins. I confirmed this small annex of coins today after 5 hours solo hunting, with my support crew of 1.
As I was extending out into a new area of the field there was plenty to dig mostly because the recent rain had made the longer stubble more supple & it also gave me more depth on the flatter areas.

13 Roman Coins
1 Lead Token
1 Jetton
2 x 17th C Tokens, one IDed as John Rowley of Luton 1657. (One I need)
18-19th C Horse brass
1st C AD Fibula (Roman Brooch)
A failed cast piece of bronze (probably Roman), very odd shaped of what looks like the internal workings of a ?
Bronze Mount thingy
Circa 1685 Charles II Trade Weight (53 Grams) - Another 1st for me.

So 2 finds I need equals another good day.

Ps Pepper, I got you some greenies.

Oh what a relief to see once again the photo filled with greenies, even though a couple are disc hits. :laughing7:
Great to see some results from the soft stubble as it can be a pain if left high. Liking the Fibular and weight.
Getting a couple of firsts after what you have dug over the years is a very good day in my books. Congrats.
The piece of castings cleaned up reminds me of part of a key?
To be honest, it doesn't remind me of anything Roman I have seen.

I don't usually post a reply to your finds anymore, because I'm always just saying the same thing!
The history under your MD is always astounding. I noticed though that you only had a support team of one..
So, though I've never been across the pond, I volunteer to help you find some of that great history!
(probably a long line ahead of me)
Really, again, congrats on your finds. Though I don't often comment, I ALWAYS love to see your posts.
HH!

Thanks, it was tongue in cheek, as Cru'Dad can't detect on his bad leg, he is left in a chair in the middle of my runs & GPS's my finds. My true support team includes Land-Mag, as researcher, permission getter, pottery guy etc..

Like I joke with others, take a number I'll get to you eventually.....lol

Keep up the great hunts, and the equally great reports back.
