Star of David, Scorpion & ancient looking - I'm interested to find out. Not typically gold looking though.

I agree with Crusader. I don't see that it is gold. Welcome to the forum and I can't find another coin like it. No idea if you have a real coin or a fantasy coin.

I have taken it to the gold specialist and confirmed that it is indeed a Gold coin

Kind of has that "From under the water looking brass look to it"
Looked around for images on a few sites of something that would come close but didn't turn anything up either. Welcome to the forum and good luck on the ID.

Sorry, I think I would take it to another gold specialist. Gold doesn't turn black. It just doesn't discolor like that. I have found hundreds of pieces of gold. I hope I am wrong but I consider myself a pretty good gold specialist also.

I can't find another coin like it. Star of David coins come mainly from Israel and North Africa. However no collector has one like that in their collection that I could find. Not saying it isn't a genuine coin. I just can't find any information on it which makes it suspect.

IF that is gold, its very lean on gold and heavy with another metal.

How did you find it? What did it ring up on the detector? What did the specialist say the gold content was? How did the specialist confirm it?

Symbols looks like a coin from Morocco. Have never seen a gold version though.

The scorpion can be associated with Cypriot coins, but that one doesn't come up anywhere I look.

Gold coins don't always come up sparkling, if it's been near something else you can get a leaching affect that attaches to the surface of the gold. Interesting coin. My first gold stater was purple when found from iron deposits in the ground.

I considered that & the possibility it might be a silver & gold mix or a very low gold content.

Weren't some of the tiny early African gold coins made to be swallowed (if attacked/robbed) and retrieved later?

That is a very unique and interesting coin. I am excited to learn what it is when you solved the mystery. I agree gold comes out as new most of the times but it might be debased/mixed alloy...
