Prisco lantern base

Found some old iron horseshoes yesterday, so I went back out this morning to see what else might be there. Found this old Pritchard-Strong Co. Lantern base. Kept looking to see if the rest of it was there, but it was near and old fallen tree that was rotting away. Its probably in there somewhere.

The perspective looking from above doesn't give the viewer the size of the lamp. Is it 5-6" tall, or what? Also, what material does it seem to be made of, tin perhaps. Neat find, thanks for sharing !
