I went back to the lovely seated liberty dime site and up turned the switch to an oil lamp (I think), a dog tag, a hunk of lead, a flat button (civilian), and what I thought was a coin....but turns out to be a saloon token Union 1863 or 1865? Charnley, Orange St., Providence, RI. I found info. about it posted on the Friendly metaldetectingforum by Dsm_mechva on 4-4-16 so I hope it is OK to post it here with credit to the submitter of it. I continue to be blessed with interesting finds! Great token! I recovered the same token about 5 months ago and, due to its poor condition, was unable to identify it until about a week ago. Yours is in great shape! I found mine in a field located in Southern Ma. but I can only make out part of the word Providence, the anchor in the center, and the letters "CHAR" after some gentle cleaning. I wish mine was not so toasted, great find!

Congratulations to you and your find as well! I rubbed mine with...gasp...fingernails and a toothpick to be able to read a little. I found a toasted 2¢ so I know your pain and it's all still good!
