But not the coin kind of silver!:laughing7:

Our mission today was to get on new ground...and out of the four sites we found we got permission for three! The first site we got on is a site we've been trying to get permission for over a month. Never anyone home until this morning...we almost drove by when at the last second I saw him working on his excavator. Got a hard yes to detect and off we went. Turns out the site wasn't as old as we hoped but the first target within the first 2 minutes was the newer Indian Head penny so I knew there was some potential. Dug the art deco brooch and last target of the day on this site was the find of the day...sterling silver case or swagger stick topper! I was thrilled that it was intact and i would date it to the 1920s or just a little earlier. Great design as well. Second and third sites weren't as exciting but did get a few older coppers and a rare find for me...a modern coin spill...$3.43...enough for a coffee and a donut.

Thanks for looking!

VERY nice!! What a great site, kudos for working hard for that permission, it surely paid off. I'm a sucker for ornate, old silver things and that cane topper is over the top!! Congrats, looking forward to seeing what else pops out...Ddg

Too bad you can't attach that stick to your probe, add a little class to the hunts.
Killer finds,
Kudos!

Very neat, the silver cane topper is something special - a personal treasure someone would have used quite often -
it can also be the handle to an expensive umbrella - etched/chased silver-handled umbrellas were popular back then.

Umbrella (or parasol)...never even considered that and it actually makes the most sense based on the style and size! Thank you!
