Mid 1800's army eagle button

Hey all,
This is my first post here and I've just started hunting this year. I found an eagle button in a yard in Northwest Ohio that as far as I can tell through my research is from prior to 1854. From what I've been able to find the shield on the eagle buttons from 1854 to 1875 were raised rather than indented in the eagles body. I dont know for sure though. any info would be great, thanks everyone.

My first CW relic other than bullets was an Eagle button. I'll never forget it. I was shaking so bad my buddy was making fun of me.
