Gold panning turns up something unexpected

Moved a lot of dirt, and was quite surprised to find a wheat cent and two copper Lincoln cents in the paydirt. It's always something. No pics, you know what they look like. Detected awhile after that and found a huge horseshoe, a harmonica reed and some modern coins.

Hey, I lost a huge horseshoe,, fell out of my deep pockets. And that wheat penny,, was it a 1909?? The harmonica reed,, what kind of shape was it in? I rebuild harmonicas,, you know.

Thanks all. I gave the harmonica reed away to another digger. Maybe he can post a pic. Would love to know how old it is. I can get a pic of the horseshoe. The reed was in great shape.

That is one weird site for sure. 18th century all through 21st! Haven't dug any unicorns yet. We did dig up some Lego's however.

Three bucket listers came from this crazy site. Gold 1852 dollar, Gold nuggets x2, and my first seated half dollar 1859. Not bad for the off season
