Howdy Folks. Beautiful weather for swinging so I tried to eek out a few decent targets at my home renovation permission down the road. Got a 1942 wheat penny, an old small musket ball, pocket knife scraps, some clothing rivets, 12 gauge shotgun slug, and a very cute old flat button. I think the button may say "Orange Color" but, I can't quite make it out. Dug loads of nails and other foil, aluminum, and iron trash. Some day this place may be clean enough to find a deep coin in if we get some decent rain. Thanks for stopping by. Kurios1

I would claim anyday with a button like that would be a success. That being said, I'm a big fan of old buttons

I am a button fan as well. I also gives me something I can date the sight to. This button may be the oldest target I have recovered from this permission so I was pleased to see it.

Digging up any pattern button is a cool find.

I can give you some much needed moisture if you want, we just went through a two day spell that it hasn't rained in the past three weeks.

Congrats on that button Kurious. I like to see the old buttons just as much as the coins. Put 50 or so of those things in a display case, and watch your friends expressions when they look at it.

Same! I am writing my fourth article to W&E Treasures right now, all about buttons, and taking a break to check TNET. I should have had my username as buttonman123, even though I had 0 in my collection at the time.

Awesome old finds, love the button, 1790's-1830's, though some say 1800-1840's! I would guess yours is probably 1820's or 1830's based on the design.
