I found a rusted out old Ford pickup in a woody area by the home of a man I know, and decided to poke around in it. Given that it was probably the home of snakes, mice, or other undesirable creatures, I limited my time in it, but did find a couple of keeper coins -- a 47 P Rosie and a 44 P silver war nickle. After a couple of hard freezes, I'm going to check it out again, but thought I'd share the idea that rummaging around in old forgotten vehicles might yield some results -- it did for me!

I thoroughly search every old car I buy. I found change, paper money, old kids toys, build sheets under the seats etc... Excellent point to bring up. Treasure is where you find it!

I have considered that but never had the opportunity to follow up on it. I used to pass by an old junk yard full of 1940s era cars on my way to college back in the 70s. Always wanted to get in there and check behind the seats but never followed up on it.

Aaaarrrrggghhhh! You are a Pirate Matey!:blackbeard::skullflag: I have certainly considered old cars holding old coins but, just don't see many old jalopies sitting around my parts I reckon? Great scores and hope there's more in store for you after it chills a bit. Good post and suggestion.:icon_thumright:

Climbing into an old truck isn't quite like taking a treasure-laden ship at sea, but if one's imagination is active, it can have an adventurous feel to it nevertheless! Savvy?! :skullflag:

Nice going on the two recoveries.

It was one of the first go to places was the local dump. Kids - old cars - and let the fun begin. Under seats, trunks, rip the dash vents apart to see what treasures were trapped in the ventilation plumbing, there always seemed to be enough for a store run for penny candy.
