Hi, as we all know... you can't find good stuff everyday....

For the last 2 weeks, I struggled to find 1 silver, a Barber dime and 3 indianheads 1899, 1901, 1903.... this is after 5 morning trips of about 3 hours each..

20170920_190703.jpg

Yesterday, I went for a walk and about a 1/2 mile from my house, I saw a guy moving out of this old place.... I remembered I had detected there once 27 year's ago, when a guy who had permission, took me there.... I was a second season rookie and only found a "V" nickel and I think he found 1 silver.... Well, the place had been sold many times since and I could never get back in... Now, I had the chance to ask again... The guy said yes, have fun... I had dug a couple wheats deep (6-8") but, it was the easiest soil to dig in... I got a high tone 63-93-60-93-94 reading... I figured it was junk, but, at 8" and in easy digging soil... I had to see..... I popped the plug and saw 3 green coins and a silver half in the bottom.... turns out , they were 3 wheats and a 41 nickel...

20170920_083433.jpg

As I pulled the half out, I was another one under it, pulling it out, there were 2 more.... one had a penny stuck to it....

20170920_083525.jpg 20170920_083616.jpg

I checked the hole with my pin pointer and there were 2 more halves in the hole, for a total of 5 Walking Liberty Halves...
1938, 1941, 1942, 1944, and a 1944S

20170920_083631.jpg 20170920_121655.jpg

What a way to break my silver drought..... But, I wasn't done ..... As I continued to detect the yard....

I pulled a Merc. Dime 1926D and a 1911D Barber Dime.... Yaahoo 7 silver day...

But, I had 1 more surprise.... I had a screaming tone at 3 inches !!! Oh, well ... easy dig anyway.... out pop's this huge , coin like object... with an Indianhead on it !!?? What the heck is this ????

20170920_093100.jpg 20170920_184519.jpg

After getting it home and cleaning it up.... It's a "Lucky Penny" ..... It's huge.. I put a half next to it to show size... pictures are after clean up some and what it looks like new.... I found it "after" I found the 5 halves, but, still Lucky Day for sure....

20170920_174725.jpg 20170920_174712.jpg s-l400 (1).jpg s-l400.jpg 20170920_190927.jpg

This is the coins cleaned up, with just water, all the halves are in great shape... you can still see the green from the wheat's on them, but, I don't want to clean them any more.... Time Machine --- this one's for you ...
I don't know how the picture got out of order... but, this took forever... LOL... I'm not a writer...

I've never experienced a silver spill. Was at a cellar hole, got a great high tone signal, dug and out popped (3) 1970's quarters. What a let down. I can only dream of a spill like yours!! Congrats!!!!

Congrats on an absolutely ridiculous spill. You equaled my LIFETIME Walker finds all in one shot! What a rush that must have been. I love the lucky penny also. Never seen one before. I can imagine the "what the heck is this?" moment. Well done!
