Military Button Id help

Found this button in a field near me in Mass. Have found items from mid 1700s to present. I cant find anything online to match this exactly. It appears to have 5 stars, the letters N H on top, U S in middle and a V on the bottom. The eagle has a shield in the middle but no mark that i can make out in the shield. Also the back piece is gone, leaving just the shank. Any ideas?

I think the very top left side is an N with an H on the other side for New Hampshire? Then the middle left is hard to discern but I assume its a U to make US in the middle?

NH would make sense to be New Hampshire. Looks like US & V for the other letters. Hmmm? Really cool old button. Might try the What Is It section for an ID.

Seems to fit with my gut feeling about it being early 1900s, circa WWI era or just after.

Interesting! I just searched for both phrases and "National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers" definitely has more hits and I think that is probably more accurate - though "National Home for Disabled Veteran Soldiers" does come up too - even in the official documents.
