Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend with lots of fun and cool finds. Saturday we hit the grass at one of our favorite parks by the river, it was really nice, the weather was mild and mostly sunny. The parking lot was packed and it took us a bit to find a spot to park, there were lots of people, young and old running for a fundraiser, I think it was called Declan's dino run or something like that. Declan is a little boy fighting brain cancer. many people were wearing costumes, tutu's and silly and matching clothes, it was awesome to see. sorry it's sideways, Kids loved this vehicle, the officers were so nice and even let the kids see the inside of the back. I got brave enough to walk up and ask if Chug could take my picture with it, I'm shy and have been working on it for years. sorry this one is upside down, hopefully Chug can fix it when he gets home from work. Anyway, it was awesome to see so many people laughing, smiling and really happy to be there.
We both made new friends, Chug got the green one, and I got the brown one! About 45 minutes after we got there, everyone left and that's when the contest started. Chug found 26 cents, 23 bottle caps, 6 pull tabs, half a can and foil, nails and half a can. I found 12 cents, 21 bottle caps, 7 pull tabs, half a can, nails, foil and a metal fastener. The best part of Saturday was when I hear a man asking Chug if he was a millionaire yet, I look over and there is my dad in law! We visited for a bit, then he went down to the water where his friends were waiting for him, the shoreline was packed with people fishing! We called it a day when our arms gave out and started hurting big time.
Sunday we were able to hit our favorite park/school. it was quiet and peaceful and we were hoping for a successful and fun hunt, we hadn't been able to go there for a couple of weeks cause of soccer games going on, its a huge park and there had to be maybe 6 to 8 teams playing at one time. The tot lot didn't yield much, so we headed for the field. Now, remember when I said my dad in law is my lucky charm when we see him? Well, yesterday was a great day!
Chug kicked butt royally in clad, $5.56 He also found a cool earing a cuff link I found a beautiful wings pin, dirty, clean! After taking another break, we kissed for good luck, and not even a minute later, I found a tiny ring! My next target made buttercup go crazy, I had a hard time pinpointing it, but finally did it, and to my delight I found a earing I checked the plug to see if anything else was in it and it was clean. After closing the plug back up, I started swinging again, I remember thinking "Gee, it would be so cool if I could find the other one" About 6 inches away from the plug, I got another target, I started digging and guess what? OMG I got the other one, first time I find a pair, which I can now cross off my bucket list! Chug's last target for the day made him happy it's a cheap one like mine, but hey...it's a ring and it counts! I'm still smiling just thinking of how much fun we had this weekend, well, time to get back to work on my birdhouse and check on dinner, pork stew tonight. Thank you for reading this, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Take care, stay safe and HH! Red
