I mean that I found a place I can go to with nobody bothering me and nothing but the traffic to listen to from behind the trees. Its such a quiet area, the squirrls chasing each other almost did not notice me and about ran up my leg. In one hour I had found a nail, a nickel, broken perfume bottle and 2 screw caps to liquer bottles and The reason I like this place is because of what else I found. 2, 12 gague headstamps! And I am shocked on how amazing they cleaned up as well...

Peters No. 12 Target
Remington UMC No. 12 Nitro Club

The Remington UMC is an awesome find for me because it is my 2nd Nitro Club and total of 3 headstamps in less than 25 days of Metal Detecting!

Earlier this month for reference...

Yeah, it's always so nice to have a spot where you don't have to worry
about anyone screwing with you.
Love the feeling you get when you are just mentally zoned into the ground,
oblivious to everything else.
Cool that you collect shotgun head stamps, I use to keep all brass cartridges,
now just any of the older, cowboy era ones.
Kudos!

Those UMC shells are pre-1912 based on what I read a couple years back. I forget when the others are from though. Cool headstamps, they are very cool to research. It sounds like a fun and relaxing hunt! Once I started metal detecting those quiet very private, but public places, especially in the woods, I never turned back.

Good finds there. I have a pretty good collection of old shotgun brass myself.
It's also very nice to have a spot that you can hunt "in peace". I totally understand. Good job!

BINGO! I reckon when every treasure hunter first got into this sport the last thing on their mind was finding an activity that brings peace to one's own soul. He hee! Well, being alone and consecrated with nature and all it's simple splendor will do just that. It's great when we can find some cool old coins or relics along the way but, having squirrels playing tag around you as if your are an oak tree is exactly the kind of thing that promotes a healthy mindset. Excellent post and welcome to the best therapy I know of with NO side affects other than perhaps acquiring OCD for gathering up a pile of cool old artifacts.:hello2:
