DIGGING IN A GRAVEYARD

Yesterday, I got together with fellow T-net member and neighbor. Clothesline Lori. We headed for the boat ramp at Elk State Park. The park gives you access to Eastbranch Clarion River Lake but the reservoir has been drained due to repairs being done on The Eastbranch Dam. This valley was flooded shortly after the dam was built in 1952. There was plenty of activity and structures in the valley before that.
Although I didn't dig any silver coins, I did come across a clad quarter and dime at the edge of a hole someone did not backfill. (Not good)
Now the part about "DIGGING IN A GRAVEYARD ". Hundreds,, if not thousands of 6 inch Clay Pipe Fittings were dumped in the lake. They help provide a reef for the many varieties of fish that were introduced to the lake after completion of the dam. It felt like I was digging where so many Clay Pipe Fittings had been laid to rest.
I did manage to recover numerous pieces of non-ferrous metal targets. We left after about 4 hours because we saw a big storm coming in. There are a few areas we would like to check out on a return visit.
If you venture into the valley, be sure to bring a spare pair of boots to change into for the ride home. You will get muddy. Also, be aware that signs have been posted that warn of rattlesnake sitings.

Yes, hope you do well. Snakes, never liked 'em, never will. But won't hurt them either. Unless they are 1) at my house and 2) poisonous.

Glad you got together with Lori again. Great to see you are forming some wonderful relationships in your new surroundings. Chasing treasure is cool but, getting to know, love, and appreciate your neighbors is PRICELESS! You are doing it RIGHT! That place does look a bit spooky with all them "bones" looking pipes laying around. Might find a gun in that place dropped off a boat? Who knows?

Lori and her husband Jeff are 2 of the nicest people you could ever want as neighbors. They have made my transition from NYC to "Small Town, USA" a very pleasant one.
