Today’s little hunt yielded 11 wheaties, a Tangee natural makeup case, my first pocket watch that the face is legible and what has to be the absolute worst Merc dime. It was found in the front yard of a house that is right next to the main road through town. In the winter, tons and tons of road salt gets thrown on that road. It rang up as a penny signal/number in my Etrac.

I'd say that one experienced a bit of fire damage.

Too bad about the condition of your Merc, but I have seen worse! Nice pocket watch and I'm a sucker for old stuff with ornate designs, neat make-up case! Congrats on a fine day in the dirt...Ddf

It is a bit on the toasted side, still, as others have said, it IS a merc. I found one that was bent in half, how in the world?

I found one last year that was almost cut completely in half. Im suspecting it met its fate with a lawnmower.
