Damnails and I met up Friday for a hunt and had a nice time.
I didn't find a lot but I did get my first flying Eagle. It's kinda ruff but you can make out the date. (1857). Also found three wheat pennys, 1936, 1941, and 1945, and a single three ringer, and part of a harmonica Reed. Thanks for looking.

Wow, rare. I once saw a coin holder for the early small cents. The flying eagles spots were not punched out. I don't remember the exact wording but basically, don't even try you won't get these spots filled.

Congratulations!

I am trying to fill that book with Dug coins. Flying eagle section is full. most of the early Indians have been found. Thank God there is no hole for 1877 LOL strangely the newest ones are mostly empty weird that I'm finding the older ones more

Nice work. that is one coin that gets passed over a lot Rings up like a shotgun shell on my detector. I can't imagine how many I passed up before I started digging everything. Congratulations on your find

I hear you. I'm usually happy if I find a copper that is recognizable. Having a clear date is a big plus, especially on one this old.
