The ground is frozen solid where I am so the detecting season ended 1 month earlier than usual. Only could manage a few very short 1- 2 hours hunts in the warmer periods of the day. Got a few nice finds.

A few hundred feet from the spot I have found my previous Revolutionary War 29th button got an other one. And what a beauty it is. My best preserved coat size Rev War.

Also managed an artillery button. Being copper it's in a so so shape.

A nice, lion head rosette.

A possible piece of musket ramroad.

My first pewter pillars button ( the coin is for comparison).

A few coppers. All beat. One got me excited as I thought at first that I found my first French copper. Nope just the usual halfpenny token...

A few nice hunts. Sad for the weather and lost opportunity but what can you do.
Thanks for the comments.

Now that a real nice hunt, awesome button to go into the keeper display.
Frozen ground? Sunday there was a horn crust of frozen turf under the tree line but the pastures were still available. Just waiting for the corn/cows and men that have buck fever to leave the main sites. Geez it puts the pressure on how much quality time we get out there.

It sure does. A can hear the clock ticking with the winter being at out doorsteps.

That was some excellent discoveries. The big regiment button is in such impressive condition, but the lion's head rosette is such a wonderfully distinct find. The ramrod pipe is also a terrific find. I feel for your sense of dread with the upcoming cold weather, :sad1: but finds like these should keep the fire stoked all winter long.

Very nice button finds, love the Revolutionary War 29th button and that Lion's head Rosette! :occasion14:

Dave

Thank you. Never found that type of rosette before. At first, thought it was an other sword buckle.
