Good evening everyone. This morning I was able to get out for a bit after finishing a few errands. I wasn't to excited or feeling it(lucky) but, I went anyway. Found an iron patch and it all started lol.... Just target after target and NO trash! This evening when I started looking at the finds I noticed one of them seemed different. I mean it felt thicker then the other three I found. As I was delicately cleaning it I noticed the chain. The one side looks good but, the other will be a challenge. In the three hours I was there these are my finds.

Thanks for looking,
Don

I added these two photos to show the slow and little progress I've made with the detail of this coin! Just taking my time. There is a coin shop close by any thoughts?

Thanks,
Don

"Because of the demand for this issue by both large cent collectors as well as type set collectors prices are high. Any chain cent in AU or MS easily sells for six-figure sums. In January 2012, an example graded PCGS MS65BN sold for $1,380,000 at auction. XF graded examples sell for approximately $40,000, depending on the variety and the overall eye-appeal of the coin. Prices gradually go down in the lower grades but as an example a PCGS F-15 usually sells for about $20,000, give or take. Even barely recognizable examples with porous and corroded surfaces usually sell for at least $2,000. If such a coin is graded without problems by PCGS or NGC prices go further up from there."

I'm hoping this coin cleans up and you reap the reward your patience and persistence has earned you. Congratulations on the banner and a find of 100 lifetimes.

Congrats that is a great coin! I never realized only 1000 are known to exist. That makes me wonder if there are more buried in the ground or have they all been collected since the mid 1800's? Enjoy your beautiful find.

Any Updates on Cleaning this? I would love to see some progress

I haven't done anything with it but, I think that's all the detail I will get off it. The soil isn't very kind to coins over here and decades of fertilizing didn't help either. I'm going to just be happy with what I have. I will get it slabbed though. Thanks for asking!
