Smittyman and I drove to NYC last weekend. We hunted in NY & NJ for four days with our Tnet friends. I can not thank our hosts enough for their generosity and hospitality. Scrappy, Eastcoasthunter21, Bartek and Treblehunter.

We hunted a lot of different spots. All were beautiful in their own way, however these were some of my favorites:

Here is a shot of Eastcoasthunter21 taken from Bartek’s drone. Yeah, we had a ball!

We will start with this, it looked just like a copper coin... however turned out to be a 10 gauge shotgun shell.

Here is a pic of all of the relics:

I got a hand full of flat buttons:

I believe this is a knee buckle frame. Input appreciated. I have it propped up on a fragment of a shoe buckle.

Here are some musket balls.

This is the mechanism from a powder flask. I attached a flask pic from the internet.

I managed to locate some copper coins. 1875 IHC, 1836 LC, KG3 & unknown KG.

I found this walker and a 1905 Barber dime too. Yeah, I gored the walker... last day, last hour... I was really tired. Oops.

The real treasure was spending time with like minded gentlemen of integrity. Thanks for everything fellas!

Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts.

Looks like you had a great hunt. I think your buckle is a small shoe buckle. The crossbar went across the long axis on knee buckles and across the short axis on shoe buckles. Also the two large domed flat buttons with the iron boss are probably bridal mounts.

I had a great time digging with you guys. I thought that place we went to on Monday would pan out, especially after Charlie dug that rat tail spoon. Ah well, we sure had some laughs. I regret not being able to hunt in the fields Tuesday and Wednesday. Looks like you guys had a blast. Nice sets of finds overall, looks like you scored several fragments in addition to that complete frame. Very nice!

Rumor is that Carolina Tom plants all his finds. Problem is he forgets where he plants half of them so if you all go back out there you'll probably find what he lost. Poor guy is actually losing serious relics on these hunts..

Looks like you guys had a solid hunt, anything on those flat buttons Tom? Congrats on a bit of silver as well

Two of the buttons had fancy on the front, however, i know that you mean military, and l regret to report that I didn’t find any military buttons.

Thanks Jon!

From the looks of the pics and the sounds of your post, it would have been a great time even if you didn't find anything ! But since you did find some items, Congrats to all of you !
