Jimzz977, myself and a really nice gentleman from Az, Jack, headed out to a WW1 training camp to hunt the dump. There's not a whole lot in the way of coins, but there are some nice relics left to find. Jack found a 1911 barber dime, a couple of cuff buttons and a WW1 dog tag. Jimmy found some buttons and he also found a WW1 dog tag, hopefully he'll post a pic of it here after he cleans it. I used the CTX, open screen, 2 tone ferrous and high trash with auto sens along with the 6" coil. That setup seemed to work very well among all the trash and there was plenty of it.

I dug out a few cool relics, but, no coinage today, still had a great time hunting with 2 fellow detectorist.

Sounds like taking Jack out with you has created good Karma. You never know when it will come back around.

Jack also found 2 1/4 Mexican reales from the mid 1800's at another site last week

Jack's a really nice guy and one of the luckiest to boot.:headbang:

I'll take luck every time :laughing7:. It truly was luck. The only reason I hunted that spot a second time was because I had run back t the truck for batteries.

A big thank you to you and Jimzz977 for taking an out of town detector under your wing and making my visit to Las Cruces more memorable. I hope karma rewards you both with great finds!

Some of the most enjoyable hunts I have had are with locals I've met on the road. This is a great hobby full of good people.
