Thanks for all comments. I will definitely be getting it restored as it does need to be straightened slightly as well.
Greg will post the video soon of the hunt and hopefully many more from the site.

    Sweet find. Congratulations to you.

***I noticed you are wearing a fishing vest which is almost identical to mine! I hang my Garrett carrot in the exact same fashion as well. Those fishing vests are excellent for carrying your finds and trash while detecting.

Well, this is exactly the type of find true treasure hunters dream of. Slightly bent yet completely intact. Truly an amazing piece of researching and recovery. Banner worthy by all accounts. Well done guys!

Second, I believe in the Constitution of the Republic of the United States of America, without interpretation, as it was written and meant to work. I have given my sacred oath “to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic.” I intend to fulfill that oath. Third, I believe in the family unit and, in particular, my family unit. I have sworn that I will give my life, if it is required, in defense of God, the Constitution, or my family. Fourth, I believe that any man without principles that he is ready and willing to die for at any given moment is already dead and is of no use or consequence whatsoever. The video is up on the Saving History YouTube channel. I'm not allowed to post a direct link because of the monetization ads, but there is a link to the channel in my signature if anyone is interested.

Hey Glen, I think it is circa 1850 or so. Used up through war.

That's what it's all about! I'd give it a light cleaning to reveal the detail, and be happy with it as is.
