Today was pretty mild today so I decided not to waste a opportunity to get out. We're not going to get many more days like this. So my main plan was to hit the driveway where there used to be a poor farm. I had done it before for a couple of buttons. Nothing at all,so I went across the street where the barn used to be and dug up a key on a chain. Definitely bot newer, maybe 50-60s?? It says gm your key to greatness on it. So after a hour I gave up. I decided to try this spot on my way home. I've got some decent things out of it but not since last year. But since I know the area was around in 1740-50 ,I keep going back. I went towards this big pine that I found a large cent at last year. About a foot from it ,I get this scratchy signal that says 8 inches. As I start to dig down,it becomes solid. A KG!! Awesome! No date but after a soak, maybe I can get one. I cover my hole and swing the CTX to the left and it hits a high mid tone. I'm like,no way right?! It says 10 inches and it was every bit of that. At first I thought it was 2 coins stuck together. After I knocked some dirt off,it looked like a round box. I shook it,hear something rattling around in it. So I had to open it. A 1779 reale and a 1832 capped bust half dime was inside. Unreal! Then it started raining. I think I have to explore this place a little bit more 😎 IMG_20171205_130929427_crop_698x624.jpg IMG_20171205_132107336_crop_279x293.jpg IMG_20171205_132124665_crop_262x262.jpg IMG_20171205_133523310_crop_310x296.jpg IMG_20171205_133541009_crop_397x329.jpg IMG_20171205_134123915_crop_207x183.jpg IMG_20171205_133932426_crop_252x252.jpg

Wow that's crazy! I agree you better spend some more time there. Interesting that they carried those two little silver coins around in that box thing. Also goes to show that the Spanish silver was still circulating in 1832. The half dime looks like it was minted then drilled within weeks!

That's a phenomenal day of digging. A little mini-cache. Is it my imagination or does the KG II look double struck? ...Looks more like that on the reverse than the obverse.

I have dreamed about this! Except you weren’t in the dream. Dang man.

You got capped and Spanish in one fell swoop. That’s just as good as it gets in my book. One hole, wow.

Big congrats.

Excellent hunt you had! I agree, I'd go back and dig even iron grunts if they are at depth. We don't find stuff that old out here! Grats and thanks for posting.

Nearly every little "container" I have dug has been empty.:tongue3: I did get a compact with a Merc dime and a few Wheaties once. Nothing that compares to this incredible TWO for ONE silver Jubilee! Not to forget your very nice score on the old Copper KG. What a remarkable short few moments of Treasure Hunting COOLNESS!!!:headbang::cool: Firmly engrained in your memory bank for the duration I am certain. Way to get after it before freeze up. Well Done!:icon_salut:

the Spanish was the first coin I saw,I was surprised the second was 1832

It does look it,I’ll have to see after a couple of days soaking if it cleans up
