I went back to area that I detected on my last outing to see if could find some more treasure. Just a few hundred feet from where I parked at on my last hunt I saw this poor car without any wheels. I always try to stay within sight of my SUV. They're bad about breaking into cars and robbing people at gun point.

After arriving at the site, I spoke with one of the maintenance workers for a good 15 to 20 minutes about muscle cars of the 60's and 70's before I started detecting. Nice guy, he put me on to some other sites that I might want to check out.

Before the day was over I managed to find one wheat penny, a Mercury dime, a 925 silver ring and some clad coins. The Mercury dime came from across the street in a grassy strip in front of a mid-thirties home. So far I haven't been able to find any silver coins at the apartment site. It's time for me to find another site to detect for my next outing.

Congrats on the silver and that's a pretty cool looking ring. You've done well on the strips this season.

The car doesn't look like it's been off the car lot long, looking at the brake callipers all shiny and new.

Congrats on the Merc, but the silver ring wins the day. What an unusual style! Are those onyx stones? Sub 8-)

When I looked at that ring I immediately thought about those movies where the poison / drugs were under the "stone", flip it open & pour or snort!

Really really cool ring!

Well done on the silver Tabman,,
Reminds me of growing up in The South Bronx.
A screwdriver and a pair of channel locks and some people could strip your car in 5 minutes.

Thanks! I was thinking about getting rid of my wheel locks, but I'm having second thoughts,

Congratualtions on the nice hunt! :occasion14:
Thanks! The day turned out to be a gorgeous day weather-wise.

Thanks! It's different alright.

Thanks! The car looks pretty new. The nice looking newer house in the background doesn't fit in with the surrounding houses in the area. Most around it were built in the mid-thirties and rundown. I love those grassy strips especially those where cars park in front of them.

Very nice Merc, and ring. Congrats.
Thanks! I still love seeing them pop out the ground.

silver king is a brave man!
Thanks! Brave man? My wife thinks that I'm crazy.

Thanks! Yes those are onyx stones, but sadly one of them is missing. There are some area in Memphis that you wouldn't feel safe if you had SEAL Team Six with you. The police send in a lot of police cars when there's an incident.

Thanks! It's getting pretty bad in certain areas of Memphis. Thankfully I don't live near one of them. I live in Germantown and I drive 15+ miles to my detecting sites.

Someone with a drug problem, looking for a quick fix. Even scoring a ten or twenty bucks for used tires is important to an addict, unfortunately.

Be careful detecting over there!
