I was able to get out for what was more than likely the last hunt of the year. My father in law is moving today and requires 24/7 care right now and so my priorities have shifted until we get a schedule in place.

I went back to my faithful zoo and was reward with a couple of keepers again. First hit was a shallow 56 rosie, maybe an inch deep. Moving along, next iffy signal turned out to be a nice green 1927 wheat at 7" Last good target of the morning was a big surprise, again, another ugly sounding hit at 5" a nice green Indian, 1899. I found all 3 within 30 minutes of starting, nothing else worth keeping after that.

I ended up with 75 silver coins for the year along with 14 pieces of silver jewelry. It turned out to be a very good year using the CTX and hunting heavily pounded sites most of the time. The town I hunt in was founded in 1898 and only had 1800 souls up until 1940, that year they put in the AFB just outside of town and then the population began to grow. Most silver finds are either mercs or rosie, a few silver quarters and rarely a barber.

My buddy Jimmy in Cruses had a fantastic year scoring a US buckle and a seated half in his neck of the woods. His silver count was very impressive as well.

Three nice keepers from that wonderful zoo. Take care of pops. I am busy trying to care for my older brother who is struggling to relearn his reading, writing, and arithmetic following a stroke. It can be a chore and not for the faint of heart to care for folks with disabilities. Kudos mate!:icon_salut:

Great finds! My dad lives in Tatum NM and I may well be in your shoes one day. Coins are nice but the outpouring of concern for your family is REALLY inspiring!
