Hey folks,

Didn't expect to have time to hunt today but I ended up having a spare hour and a half this afternoon so I got my gear on!

I hit a small sidewalk strip two blocks south where I found one wheat. I then went back to the house where I found the silver ring and Indian Head a couple weeks ago and found a couple more wheats and a KGVI Canadian penny.

Overall, an enjoyable way to close out the year!

Totals on the day:
-1 KGVI Canadian Penny (1942)
-3 Wheats (44, 52-S, 58-D)

Happy new year!

It must not freeze up in your area, eh? Nice to add a few keepers to the pile mate. I feel like a bear wanting to go into hibernation here in single digit sub zero wind chill northern Illinois. Glad you were able to get out one more time this year.:icon_thumright:

Our winters are so mild that it's rare the ground freezes totally hard, at least not for more than a few days at a time. The hardest part is dodging rain!

Washintonian, I see some mercury dimes and Barbers in the near future. You hunt hard, I can count one hand how many times I've seen a Metal detectorist hunting curb strips here in Western Wa...nobody does it and it's almost taboo...good on you for not giving a sh*t.

Thanks HN. You're right, the curb strips are generally full of wheats and an occasional silver dime because nobody dares to hunt them. People get so territorial, I had a random lady telling me off for hunting the curb strips outside of my friend's house last week. Overall though, I've found that people are generally receptive if you ask first. No Barbers in 2017 but 27 silvers wasn't bad, I'm working on my wrap up post for the year right now!
