My son picked up a permission that will likely keep us busy for years to come. Its big (50+) acres with several outbuildings and an old General store dating before 1900 still standing but no longer used.

I spent about 3 hours digging tin foil balls and pieces of aluminum and other great sounding targets while my son sat in the car. It was a bit cold and for some reason his fingers and toes kept going numb. Maybe it was the below freezing temperature?

Anyhow…not much to report other than an old safety razor (Possibly 1912) and a single 1937-s penny for my time.

Still…I had a blast and I can’t wait to get back out when things warm back up.
I have a feeling this new site is going to give up some real interesting stuff!

Cheers and happy hunting!

Wow 50 acres!! Hope you find lots of coins and take care of your son! That’s a good kid if he’s out looking for permissions.

Yes he has no issues with door knocking. This particular permission is a relative of his wife's meaning its exclusive. YAY!

A tip of the hat to your son for getting the permission and for having enough sense to avoid frostbite!!
Congrats on your finds.

LOL We talked about the cold and agreed not to push the envelope. It very well could have been me in the car but i stayed warm and didn't have a single issue. It was strange...we both had the same kind of gloves on and he even doubled up on the gloves but could not shake the cold. I guess, once you get a chill, its hard to shake.

50 acres! That should be a great place to hang out when the weather changes..I myself have acquired a couple new permissions and can't wait until the weather warms up and the work hours go down. Ddf

Sounds like your spot has great potential. Cherry pick the good stuff while your son sits in the car!

It was cold in NC yesterday! I could only take a couple of hours and I headed home.

Congrats on the permission, and best of luck to you in 2018.

Thanks Tom, Looks like you are in for a pretty stellar year yourself.

Yea...i think it was around 26 Degrees. The wind pushed the chill factor down a bit as well but i have swung in much worse conditions. Looks like its gonna hit close to 40 tomorrow so i will take the day off to do a little swinging in better conditions.

I have been working very little for the last 6 weeks. That's the main reason I have done well MDing. However, it is now time for me to get back after it. I will be hunting on the weekends only moving forward.

Best of luck to you sir!
