Hey everyone,

I saw this for the forecast in Seattle and knew I needed to get out today:

I visited a friend's 1920s home and was skunked for oldies. I did, however, find this big silver ring in the sidewalk strips out front. It's even too big for my thumb!

It rang up as a 79 at half an inch (usually a copper penny signal) so I almost left it, glad I didn't! The house is near a university so I was helping clean up some bottles around the yard after I finished detecting and when I went to the alley to throw them away, I ran into a friend who owns a house across the alley. They said I should hit their yard sometime and so I asked, "how about right now?".

Not too much there either but I did score a couple wheats. Dates are 28-S and 41-S.

Luck in the hunt! You'll hear from me again when we get a dry spell.

Really good finds. Finding that ring in the sidewalk strip is great! Ya just never know where the treasure lies.

Wow, with temps like that I'd be out also. We were in the negatives all last week and this week. Finally rose up to 15 above just yesterday. That looks like one nice piece of silver. Congrats on the ring.

Sounds like you had a permission filled day, Two of them and you didn't have to work hard to get them. Congrats on getting out and pulling those 2 wheats and the silver ring. :occasion14:

Thanks everyone. Pulled $0.37 clad sidewalk stripping for an hour today. Didn't post cause you all have seen that junk before. Hopefully more to come soon!
