Hello!!

My shoulder is incredibly sore from digging all day yesterday! I had Les Schwabe get me some new tires and brakes and it took longer than expected. So I got a lot of hunting in! Also, I was on my skateboard w detector knee pad and pouch. I was looking quite stylish.

This is part of an old part of town, a park that has somewhat recently been cleared of brush, and a disc golf course installed. I have detected here in the past, and gotten some neat relics. The winter is nice for detecting here. Much less underbrush.

So, I went where I found a etched tobacco lid last year, And just started swinging on the trail. Easier than bushwhacking and banging your coil on rocks and stumps. Single wide trail, a bit rocky. Lots of ferns and third growth trees. I pull out a relic or two. A brass door latch. A old cog of some kind. Not as many beaver tails as I remember...(still got a few)

Smack dab, middle of the trail. A shallow high tone. Stab, torque, pop. I saw a tiny silver disc. Immediately I saw the weath and knew it was a Canadian half dime! I text my brother a pic and a explanation. Then, like out of a YouTube show, I look at my plug and their is a PILE of silver and copper scattered around. I found my first silver coin spill!!

The only American coin out of 15 coins was a shield nickel. Having all the coins sandwiched togeather preserved them Nicely.

I then started going off trail and looking for more targets nearby. I sure did find some! 2 wheatie about 15 feet west. 1919 and 1917. And a little Indian inn ice shape, a 1905.

I ran outta daylight and battieries, but I’m excited to go there again, that’s for sure!

Washingtonian, Excellent spill (got my vote ).As to making earrings - I make jewelry with silver coins occasionally, the class way to do this is no drilling or glueing the coins ,rather bezel setting them the way you would a cabachon stone. Look for coin jewery settings online to see some examples of done right vs. disasters.

Congrats on a sweet silver spill. Those fish scales are really cool little coins, and you got a whole hand full of them in one fell swoop. That's just NICE.

Good luck to you sir!
