Hello all,

Yesterday was a bust, tried a new spot at a 1909 school and oldest coins were a couple 1960-D memorials.

But today was awesome! Got out to a late 1800s/early 1900s part of town with plenty of curb strips. My difference last year to this year is more of my hunts have been in more affluent parts of town and I’ve been much more aggressive with permissions. First good find was a solid 11-41 at 1-2 inches which ended up being a well worn 1918 Mercury dime! Across the street at less than an inch an 11-44 ended up being a 1944 wheatie. Two feet away I got a solid 11-15 which I normally don’t dig bc it’s almost always a pull tab but due to being semi close to the wheatie I decided to dig it. Signal was under a root and very stubborn but glad I stuck with it as out popped a 10K plumb gold ring with 7 tiny diamond chips!! Weighs in at 3.7 grams and I believe has some age to it. The hallmark is either MAG or MAC inside a diamond, don’t know who the makers are, any help would be appreciated. Last good find was an aluminum thimble which I think might be my first.

Very nice ring! What do you mean "getting more aggressive with permissions"? Knocking on more doors??? I haven't had much luck lately and am wondering if I can do something to ratchet up permissions.....you aren't threatening to burn their house down are you??? LOL

Haha no I’m not threatening at all, I meant being more aggressive with myself about actually asking. I was very timid last year and didn’t ask permissions much. This year if I see good yards I’m much more likely to go knock. My success at getting permissions is pretty high but I think it’s mostly bc early on I mention I’m a doctor and then most people ease up quite a bit.

Yeah that was my issue last year, I dug 81 wheaties and only 4 silver coins! Most of my hunts were this old demolished neighborhood that is in the poorer part of town, I’ve been mostly hunting the more wealthy parts this year. If it makes you feel better I just got back from a quick hunt and it’s still 6 silver coins but now 14 wheaties.

10KP = Exactly 10 Karat Plumb Gold. Nothing more, nothing less.
The MAC inside a ◇ is a little hard to find.
I believe it is a Maker's Mark.
Congrats on a Silver and Gold hunt.
