    I found a 1775 in my yard in the first week or so after I started detecting. So itís fake and not a real coin?

    Coins I have found in MY yard-

    1775 British half penny, 178x half penny, 1816 Spanish 1/2 Reale, 1849 large cent, 1858 Seated Liberty quarter, 1892 Barber quarter, 18xx Shield nickel, 1897 Liberty head V nickel, a pile of Indian cents & Wheat pennies, 1946 dime, 1963 half dollar.

    Yes, there was no regal coinage made that year so it would be a counterfeit. 1775 was one of the most common counterfeit dates. My first 18th. century coin was a KG3 counter

    Donít know. I could barely make out that it said Britain and the date. I also found what I thought was the same coin from 1774 in a park last December. Nowhere near my home though.
