Needed to take a break from researching sites and decided to hit a spot in the woods I have tried to locate 3 times without success this fall. It shows up as a dot on all of my old map overlays, but never was able to locate it with all of the brambles and high weeds.

First sign that I was near the "X" was these guys giving nice signals under 4" of snow/light crusty ice.

These harmonica reeds are typically a sign that I am into the site.
This guy also gave a nice signal, most complete oil lamp fixture I've found.

Then the best signal of the lunch hour. High tone, consistent and small.

Here it is cleaned up, one of my best suspender buckles.

Here is today's mystery item.

Also dug a little musket ball, not sure if old or modern, but looks like a dropped one.

Sort of psyched that I finally found this old 1800's homestead.Looking forward to hitting this spot next week when the temps get into the 40's and I will get my 4" of depth back.

Good luck out there!

If its close enough to get to and have time to hunt during lunch hours then i would for sure pay it some more visits sooner or later. If your still pulling that much out then theres a big chance on a old coin or two hiding there yet. If the hits aren’t the best just keep cleaning it out. May be something great under some junk. The spot has a great age to it. Just my opinion though! [emoji2][emoji106]
