The weather broke, albeit rainy, today. My first hunt of 2018, so I was able to get out to hunt one of my private permissions. The property dates back to the late 1800s. The property owner is an older (97) person with a memory like a steel trap. We chatted up for a bit before I started. I detected and found some horse tack, mini-musket balls, and some other whatnots. I also found a 1806 Great Britain 1/2 Penny. After the search, I showed the property owner, that is when the property owner made me aware that sometime between 1925 and 1930, the property owner lost a gold ring which was given by Mom. I informed the owner that I will give it my best try to recover this lost ring (lost some 90 years ago) and return it.

Stay turned and I hope that I can recover the ring.

Well went out on 2/17 to recover the lost ring. Walked 1.3 miles over 2:30hrs and was skunked. I used an app to chart and map coverage.

Nice find :icon_thumright: Second issue of the Soho mint Half penny. The first being in 1799 second 1806 and the third 1807, all with a very distinctive diagonal edge reeding pressed into the rim. This was the British governments answer to counterfeits. Very difficult for the forgers to replica, a few were attempted, these examples are rarely found.
