I was in the soft sand at the bottom of the steps that are coming down from the boardwalk and had just switched to all metal mode. when i dug with my scoop i got a rusty 2 inch sewing needle. The beach will be really busy this weekend (80 degrees and sunny) so i'm sure that someone would have found this in their heel.. i'll trade off a slow day for this find.. might go back and make sure that there are no more in the area. It always amazes me at the crap I find at the beaches. I see any glass and in the pouch it goes.

OHHHH YUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKKKKK! I was at the Delaware beach a few years ago. This guy was watching me detect and seemed to be acting odd. I ran my coil over something buried. It was a big knife which had no corrosion on it and the blade was straight up in the air! This was in 2011, and if my memory serves, I think the guy got on his cell phone right after I found it - maybe he put it there. It's too long ago to remember correctly.

great job, always helps to show people the nails or jagged pieces of metal that we find that could have caused a flat or worse, hurt someone. I have buried broken glass when found.

Only a terrorist would put a knife in the sand like that.

Good job. On beaches I have removed a good number of nasty items, things just like that could ruin a family's whole day. Even in "tot lots", I've taken out razor blades.

Looks like that could have done some damage to the skin. Nice cleanup.

back in the 60's or 70's there was a huge multi lane slide that was so long that you rode down on a burlap sack. It was a big attraction behind the mall until someone place razor blades in the cracks. It was shut down for good... the beach could be easy "spiked" by these modern day goofballs..
