Cleaned my barlow knife from my hunt other day

Im happy with this find nicest knife i found detecting that cleaned up nice, it took most of the day with electrolysis with it, i had problems with one side were uses see the "ba" letters at it wasn't grounding good, i did my best on it i had to stop it because it was thinning the one side plat that says "low" on it but im happy with it , i finish it by using sos pad and did a finished over it so it don't rust any more, thank for checking out my find!!!

Thanks yea its one of my church papers though be nice to display on before putting in my treasure case with my other finds nicest knife part of my collection so far

That knife brings back the memories, had several of those over the years. even gave one to my younger brother when he was ten. I have yet to find one still in that good of shape (carbon steel that is).

I found out the Barlow knife i have is made in Ireland

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I recall buying these at the local hardware store and maybe even the drug store in the 70's. I don't think I ever kept one more than a couple of weeks before losing or breaking it.

Thanks for checking my find out yea with this Barlow knife there were 2 different made the one i have that has Barlow on it the letting was made smaller so it was pre 30s in Ireland, and the other was bigger letting made in "prov ri" 30s on up, i was happy to able to see the lettering to be able to date it
