I found this spur and wanted to see if anyone had any idea of its origin. 425E7015-1C4E-46A0-9326-48583FCDF400.jpeg

Not being a wise guy, but was it found in Calvary, or are you wondering if it is a cavalry spur? It does look like a Civil War era spur, nice find.

I am certainly not an expert, but it appears to be a Union cavalry spur from the Civil War. I'd look in the area for more stuff. Should be more there.

Great find. And the spur looks intact too. Great find. Got one on my bucket list. Congrats.

Smokeythecat is correct. Getting a bit more specific, it is the civil war yankee Enlisted-man's model of cavalry spur. The Officer version was fancier.

Nice spur, especially nice because it still has its rowel. That’s usually rusted away when dug.
