I haven’t done any serious mountain biking since the 90’s but the bike I got in 1987 still kicks butt! I heard about a remote cabin in the hills that was built in the 1880’s and burned down about 20 years ago. It turned out to be about a 9 mile off-road journey with some pretty brutal ups and downs. I mostly pushed the bike up the steep hills and screamed down the other sides.

The Etrac computer and handle fit nicely in the backpack and the coil/shaft was held in an outer sleeve (designed for a baseball bat). I wrapped insulation foam around my shovel and strapped it to the crossbar.

I snapped a pic of the setup in front of what’s left of the cabin. Oh yeah, I found about a dozen coins but, strangely, nothing older than 1950’s. Best was the silver dime below. Thanks for reading and good luck out there!

Nice! I use a padded guitar case that has shoulder straps so it wears like a back-pack when I travel by bike. I got mine at a thrift shop. Holds the detector and misc. gear.
