These are this mornings best finds. Signals were few but, the silver button, made up for that. Once again sunny but very cold, in the wind. I detected the field where I had the two hammered coins, the other day. First find was the livery button, with the fowl on it, 18th/19th century. Followed quickly by the lead medieval token. This small field give's these up on a regular basis. Last and by a long way best, the silver button. It's wonderful piece of 17th century workmanship. Obviously very happy with this find. Robert.

That is a beautiful silver cufflink and knowing the history behind t is a real bonus. I wonder how they came up with that attribution though?

Cheers Steve, good question, suppose the crown signifies a royal wedding. Robert.

Cheers Dale, just looked it up. It's classed as a cufflink, made to commemorate the marriage of Charles II, to Catherine of Braganza in 1662. Robert.
I've been to England detecting half a dozen times, Rob.........always wanted to find one of those, but never did! Your's is an exceptionally nice one!

Damn Rob I’m in love with that cuff button. What a beautiful piece in great condition. I suppose I Love 17th Century pieces a bit more because they’re about as old as I’m likely to find here. Old silver has a very special look to it imo
