I had a 6 hour hunt yesterday in 2 different parks, and recovered quite a lot. I found 105 clad coins, several pieces of junk jewelry, a nice gold earring, 3 wheat pennies, a small silver broach with a fractured stone in the middle, a couple of larger coins that turned out to be train flattened pennies, a 2004 zincoln penny that is almost the size of a nickel, a nice old buckle, and a nice condition, working smartphone from a volleyball court under about 10 inches of sand. I will be trying to get it back to the owner if I can figure out a way to unlock it or contact the cell company to have them get the owner to contact me. Value wise, I'm sure the phone isn't cheap. I don't know why the 2004 penny is almost the size of a nickel. Any ideas would be helpful. It is not damaged in any way other than the usual corrosion for clad pennies. Happy hunting and stay safe out there. I also find a lot of phones, mostly in the river and non functional. This one is in excellent shape and functioning well. Hope to get it back to the owner.

Well done JC! That silver brooch is a sweet little find, and looks older to me.

Good luck to you sir!

I didn't notice that. The only problem was it was dead and needed recharged.
