Tony and I got out for our first real hint of the year. Ground was soft, sun was shining and the grass was short! We started and finished at a couple new sites that we just got permission for. The first of the two sites is older but it's in a plowed field and the mud was almost impossible to manage. We found another new site in an adjoining field which is a pasture so the grass was nice and short. Picked up the acorn bell, a first for me, on our way to the pasture. The crotal bell and sheep's bell were on the new site. Target friendly and definitely on our list to go back.
I found the two parts of the bronze candlestick about 10 feet away from each each and was thrilled that they mated up...its very heavy and will clean up nice and make a great user.
The first and best target of this site was the silver and gold brooch. Pity it's in such poor condition but at least the gold bezel is intact...and nicely engraved. Was a great hunt and am looking forward to getting back there!
