We were gonna go to a house spot we've hunted before but when my grandpa told me about a house spot that has only been hunted for 20 mins we couldn't refuse. Turns out it was literally filled with harmonica reeds and I managed to find my second ever confederate state button. 12051.jpeg turns out it was a Virginia button. Here's a wrap-up of the whole day. 12053.jpeg

Congratulations! VA buttons are a great save. Keep pounding that spot and you may find more.

I've never seen that many harmonica reeds in one place! The whole family must have played them! :laughing7:

We were stunned ourselves. almost every hole was a harmonica reed. Only 1 flat button also which was very suprising.

It was definitely a day of the harmonica. Almost every signal I had was either a shotgun headstamp (about 25 of them) or harmonica reeds. The sad thing about it most of the reeds I dug didn't even make it in my pouch. Still all the digging was worth seeing him get that VA button. The only decent finds i had, a flat button a wheaty, really bad eagle button and a silver plated spoon. This house spot is a ways back in the woods and no signs of it is left. I'm hopeful there are more buttons or a buckle. We just have to get through the harmonica reeds and shotgun shells first.
