Well nicest to come from a plowed and fertilized field which is pretty much all I hunt these days. Ive found about 60 British colonial coppers and 30 US Large cents since I started detecting in 2015 and just 7 Spanish silvers. Not a good ratio but about on par with the wheat penny to modern silver ratio. Maybe one day Ill find a early tavern site or trading post that is loaded with early silver

Great finds ! Your Spanish to large coppers ratio isn't that bad. Good luck on your future hunts!

In just two years???? I've found 6 LC (5 toasted), one KG and zero Spanish silvers in eleven years. I'd say your ratio is pretty dang good.

Nice group of finds. Further South you'll find more Spanish silver than coppers at some sites.

Yep seems like the pre rev war coinage for most of Maryland and all points north, your digging KG II coppers primarily and all points south, primarily cut Pistareens/cobs
